What is now the Pilgrim River Steak House was originally named "Mike's Tavern," and was built in the early 1900's. After the Portage Lake Golf Course came onto the scene, it was known as the "19th Hole." This was a favorite watering hole for both young and old who enjoyed good company, along with a few drinks to finish a perfect day. "Mike's" and the "19th Hole" has undergone several renovations in the last few years, and it now stands as one of the finest eateries in the area.
